About

Creative digital experience created for Pepsi in Brazil that allowed up to three strangers to be connected in realtime creating a virtual band. Inspired by the concept of "air guitar", the three users would just need to make movements in front of their webcams to start playing its instruments.

Pepsi Airband won many awards at that time and is still a reference of the best of Brazilian creativity on the web.

Technology

The use of Flash Media Server is the very core of this experience, handling all the user control in the server-side we were able to create a real time queue of users waiting their time to play. Every user would have a pre-determined amount of time to perform his own air instrument before leaving the place.

A simple script for detecting the movements in the client-side of the flash application was used to determine the intensity of each sound. We had many rounds of tests and fine tuning to determine the best configuration of sounds versus movements and achieve the best user experience.

About

The e-commerce website for Ecko Canada is a complete customized vending platform tailored to provide a great sales machine for the Ecko Unltd brand in Canada.

Technology

Using Python for its back-end and relying on Satchmo, an open-source e-commerce framework. We had total liberty to customize the entire website structure, allowing for a better integration of the solutions from the design team.

Satchmo itself is based on Django, the most popular web framework for Python, what helped me to easily integrate into the server-side team and work on most of the AJAX solutions from the product and gallery pages.

Designed and developed by Lesite in Montreal, where I was working at that time.
My part in this project consists of working on the integration of data from Django and Satchmo into the front-end, creating many of the AJAX solutions presented in the website.

About

An advertising campaign for a Mall in Belo Horizonte, Brazil. The idea was to create a connection between the online visitors of the Facebook Page and the consumers shopping there by sending virtual hugs that would be delivered by real people.

Technology

Using an open-source implementation of a Media Server, we configured two cloud servers to server the application. The first server would handle all the real-time video streaming on Red-Five platform and the other one ran a Node.js server controlling a virtual queue of Facebook visitors waiting to take part on the campaign.

In the mall we had a small setup of a notebook, 100mb internet connection and a big screen so we could stream the realtime video back to the Facebook Application and allow the people being hugged to see who was sending it on the web.

About

A new website for one of the most influential advertising agencies of the State of Minas Gerais, Brazil. With the goal of outperform all the competitors from the local market, we have put together an amazing experience using HTML5, Javascript and CSS.

Technology

An important decision taken by the team during the planning phase was to focus all the efforts of development on the front-end, so instead of opting for a traditional admin-managed website, we chose to go with a super-customized website, displaying tailored pages for each of the selected showcases from the agency.

We have also used many of the best open-source solutions available today, like RequireJS to manage all the javascript development into multiple modules, Grunt to automate all the releasing related tasks and Bower to manage all dependencies.
